Show & Tell: L'arte di Stacy Gibboni ci assale con il suo colore, ogni pennellata
costruisce una rete di segni in cui ci viene chiesto di entrare per essere parte del suo
paesaggio. Un paesaggio mentale dove il nostro occhio vaga come una farfalla
sopraffatta di ebbrezza nell'immenso batuffolo giallo, che si arresta a bere rossi
sanguinolenti e azzurri plumbei, per immergersi infine in quello spazio bianco
carnale, dove finalmente riposa. Il ritmo richiesto nel seguire le pennellate e un
ritmo sincopato, dove le battute si inseguono e si richiamano in una sorta di danza
circolare in cui siamo chiamati a partecipare. La partecipazione richiesta e intensa
e intima: una storia in cui entrare. Una storia, tante storie, emergono dalle grandi e
piccole tele…

constructs a net of marks inviting us to enter becoming one with the artists gesture. An internal
landscape where the eye bounces like an overwhelmed butterfly drunk on the nectar of an immense
yellow bloom, stopping to drink blood red flora and deep blue fauna, emerging in a creamy carnal
white space where finally it rests. A syncopated rhythm is demanded to follow this brushwork, a
rhythm where the key strokes are chased and recalled in a kind of circular dance in which we are
invited to participate. This participation is intense and intimate: a story upon which to enter.
A story – many stories – emerge from large and small canvases where a scene is cut out and blown
up, a scene containing isolated elements - buds, petals, leaves, trees - creating colorful compositions
overflowing from within the depths of the picture frame. Instantaneously transcribed markings of an
organic nature distributed upon the pictorial surface creates a painting lived like a text from an
autobiography. And so the story told in the show is one story: Stacy Gibboni's story.
